FERRELL
Originally (and proudly) from Wisconsin, I established myself out east nearly a decade ago. During that time I've studied journalism, worked as a manager at a nationwide buy-sell-trade chain (ask me to date your vintage Levis please), learned about copy at a branding agency, started freelancing, launched my passion project (see below), and started combining all my odd bits of knowledge while working at a brand manager at Krupa Consulting (a PR agency).
Hardly an expert in anything, I'm down to learn everything and so far that's worked to my advantage. But at the end of the day, I'm *just* your overly enthusiastic storyteller that loves collaborating with others.
Read out if you have a project, job, or a recommendation for a good old fashioned.

CONTENT CREATION & STRATEGY
Unintentionally I found myself in the content world. An extension of my natural storytelling, I find ways to integrate necessary information (like new client products) in innovative ways while maintaining brand authenticity. As someone who isn't enthralled by many newsletters or social accounts myself, my critical nature ensures there is value for everyone in the audience.

In short, Mag Club is a book club for magazines. We offer a respite for passionate, casual criticism in an industry often only seen for its contributions to design: independent magazines. Part subscription service & part members club, I built this brand with a support of a small team and continue to independently manage day-to-day operations.
As an exclusive offering to our members, The Gutter is a monthly newsletter that revels in the world of magazines in unexpected ways.

COPYWRITING & PERSONAL WORK
Having started copywriting during my time at a branding agency and having been writing since my earliest childhood memories, writing is my primary outlet. From the technical to the personal, I try to fit the ask. And when I'm asking for myself...It's usually a bit strange.

The tile is always much colder than the wood. This is why he wears the slippers. He considers this as his gaze inevitably wanders. Eventually landing on the puzzlement of the cat's absence. In this heat, why are they not laying on the tile?
As noted through my sequential visits, I’ve had exactly five memorable lumps in my life: two from childhood (non-threatening and quite wholesome), the one that was surgically removed in middle school (see above), and one in my breast that disappeared after a year, and then this one--which in all honesty is a sort-of anti-lump given its concave appearance. So, all in all, this latest lump is inconsequential to me.
“But he didn’t have paws?” I gave the card back.
“Excuse me?” The vet tech, clearly puzzled by the arch of their brow, took the card, held it for a breath, and then gave it back.
“No. My fish didn’t have paws, so how is this message applicable? See,” I pointed it out.
“Usually, people just take the card. You’ve already paid for it after all. Plus,” he turns it over, “there’s a coupon on the back.”
Buy two fish, get one free.
“Oh.”
